What your aligner journey will look like

Like many people, you may think your smile could be improved. But it the cost, hassle and time is daunting. SmileBar makes getting a smile you lobe easy and affordable. Your unique clear aligners cost significantly less then other brands and you get your aligners delivered to your door with little disturbance to your usual life.

Your SmileBar journey begins with a free online assessment. You can do that on our website in as little as 20 seconds and see if SmileBar aligners are right for you.

When you order and impression kit from SmileBar we send you an aligner kit and instructions that allow you to take impressions from your upper and lower teeth, in the comfort of your home. Following this you can then send your impressions back to us, with a questionnaire we ask you to fill in and we send this to our partner dental lab. The questionnaire asks you to highlight any irregularities including, caps, veneers, and root canals that you have already had. Also a series of photos that help the lab plot your aligner journey

We partner with a dental lab which creates aligners for many other well known international companies, so you are in good hands. They will take your impressions, known as negatives and create plaster positive molds that look exactly like your own teeth. These will then be placed in an advance 3D scanner, where they are then analysed by industry standard “Shape 3D” software. The software takes the scan of your positive molds. It plots your teeth now, and together with any caps, Veneers, or root canals identified, will indicate the movement required to give you straight teeth, with the correct byte.

Smile Bar clear aligners work for mild to moderate cases of teeth crookedness and gaps. There are cases our lab will reject, as being more suitable for treatment with traditional braces. The 3D scans and pictures showing the prescribed movement steps, will be sent to you via email, for approval. The animation of steps amazes most people. A 3D video showing “your” teeth, and the movement required to make them straight with Aligners, is very exciting for our prospective customers.

Once you accept the labs recommendation, we tell them to complete the manufacture of your sets. Each aligner set moves the targeted teeth approximately 0.3mm per set. The lab has advance 3D printers, that print a positive mold for each step the software suggests you need. So if there are 15x steps required, the printers create 15x upper and 15x lower positive teeth molds. The clear aligner is vacuum formed over the top of each of these to create your sets. It is cut and polished with precision tools to form the final product.

Within 10-14 days, you will receive your new aligner kit, with comprehensive instructions, and our special alignment accelerator. We supply this free with each new kit purchased. Some other companies charge up to USD$800 for a similar device.

Every 10-14 days roughly you will insert a new set of aligners. When a set becomes loose to remove, you start using the next set. For fastest movement and results, we recommend wearing your aligners all day, every day removing only when you eat. Together with the alignment accelerator, this will give you fastest results. If you forget them for several hours, this will slow your progress. So the less you wear them, the longer this process will take. When your alignment journey is complete, you will wear retainers for various periods of time. This ensures your teeth stay straight. Similar to those that wear traditional braces.

At SmileBar, we are not dental professionals, however the lab we partner with is. Together with the results from the supplied questionnaire, photos, and the impressions we send them, they decide “if” you qualify for the aligner treatment plan. If there is any doubt about your suitability, your application will be rejected. Our partner lab have professionals that can answer question from you during your treatment plan, however we fully encourage you to speak with your own dental professional regarding the process, if it helps your peace of mind.
